WELCOME TO NFBPA - NORTH TEXAS CHAPTER

Message from NFBPA President

As President of the North Texas Chapter of the National Forum of Black Public Administrators, I’m excited you’re visiting our website. That means you’ll learn the benefits and opportunities NFBPA has to offer. Whether you are a member checking on chapter events and trends; a potential member curious what we’re all about; a student seeking a professional networking organization as you embark on a public service career; a public servant interested in strengthening your position; or even a sponsor researching professional organizations to increase your exposure to prominent N. Texas public executives; you’ve clicked on the right website. After a decade as a member of NFBPA; I can honestly say “This organization has something for each of you and so much more”.

Our mission is embodied in the organization’s commitment to strengthen the positions of Blacks within the field of Public Administration; to increase the number of Blacks appointed to executive positions in public service organizations; and to groom and prepare younger, aspiring administrators for senior public management posts in the yearsahead. NFBPA reminds us as public servants to holdfast to the mission; and of our responsibility during our quest forward to: enthusiastically reach back to pull someone up; willingly reach across to build bridges and coalitions; and humbly reach up to our founders for guidance in times of uncertainty.

I’m privileged to serve my colleagues whom elected me as President of the N. Texas Chapter of NFBPA for 2011 – 2012 term. I give homage to the 26 Legacy members who started the N. Texas Chapter of NFBPA 25 years ago and I promise to strive to make you proud. I’m grateful to my predecessor, Tomeji Miller and her Executive Team for leaving a solid platform for me to build upon. Lastly I give thanks to my incoming Executive Board members, whose activities are underway and already heating up the N. Texas area to 212 ° ( boiling point) for 2011.

I encourage every visitor to this website to become involved with what NFBPA has to offer; the opportunity to invest in your future and prepare for upward mobility. As a member; expect to be exposed to prominent public executives at our special events, stay abreast of current events during our professional development sessions and to establish and sustain long term relationships by sponsoring and supporting our mission.

Paige Bobbitt
President
